Football for Schools (F4S) Initiative Kick-starts Across India, Promoting Sports Development

New Delhi: In alignment with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sports development, the Department of School Education & Literacy, in collaboration with the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and FIFA, has successfully launched the “Football for Schools” (F4S) initiative nationwide. The initiative, aimed at fostering the growth of football and enhancing the well-being of students, has commenced with the distribution of 5462 footballs to 1013 schools across 33 districts in Gujarat and 3 Districts of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, following earlier implementations in Odisha and Maharashtra.

The F4S initiative serves as a significant step towards promoting sports at the grassroots level and providing access to football equipment for schools across various states and union territories. The collaborative effort seeks to not only encourage physical activity among students but also contribute to the overall development of sports infrastructure in the country.

The distribution of footballs to schools is part of a larger strategy to instill a culture of sports and fitness among students, creating opportunities for them to engage in physical activities and develop essential life skills through the medium of football.

The initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the sporting ecosystem in the country, encouraging youngsters to actively participate in football and fostering a sense of camaraderie, discipline, and teamwork. As the F4S initiative gains momentum, it is anticipated to play a pivotal role in nurturing talent at the grassroots level and contributing to the nation’s sports development goals.

This collaborative effort between the Department of School Education & Literacy, AIFF, and FIFA reflects a collective commitment to realizing the potential of sports in shaping the holistic development of students and creating a robust foundation for the future of football in India.
