First-Ever Future Skills Summit to Illuminate India’s Digital Horizon in Guwahati

Guwahati: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT), is set to host the groundbreaking Future Skills Summit in Guwahati on February 15, 2024. The summit, inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, aims to bring together young Indians, thought leaders, industry experts, policymakers, educators, and technology enthusiasts to strategize and catalyze future-ready talent for India and the world.

The summit will delve into the transformative impact of rapid digitization globally, shedding light on the burgeoning opportunities for young Indians in cutting-edge technologies like AI, ML, Semiconductors, Robotics, and Cybersecurity. The discussions are aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to position India as a global talent hub, leveraging emerging technologies.

Recognizing that skills are the gateway to prosperity, the summit endeavors to formulate a roadmap in line with the national goals. It seeks to establish partnerships with industry and academic institutes to ensure that curricula closely align with industry demands and standards. Over 20 strategic collaborations are set to be announced between NIELIT and prominent entities, including Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IIITM Gwalior, and Wipro.

With more than 1000 prominent attendees and over 30 innovative exhibitions, the summit boasts an impressive lineup of speakers, including Ms. Jaya Jagadish, Head, AMD India, Shri. Ruchir Dixit, Vice President & Country Manager, Siemens EDA, Shri Lingraju Sawkar, President, Kyndryl India, Shri. Ganesh Gopalan, CEO and Co-Founder, Gnani.AI, Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay, Sh. Kuntal Sensarma, Economic Adviser, MeitY, and Dr. M. M. Tripathi, DG, NIELIT.

The summit will feature four-panel discussions on key themes like Semicon India, IndiaAI, Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies, and Digital India’s Talent for the Global Workforce. Renowned experts and industry leaders will lead these discussions, offering valuable insights and perspectives.
