FC Goa Clinch Kalinga Super Cup 2025 Title with 3-0 Win Over Jamshedpur FC

Bhubaneswar: Under pouring rain and roaring cheers at the Kalinga Stadium, FC Goa lifted the Kalinga Super Cup 2025 in style on Saturday evening, overpowering Jamshedpur FC with a dominant 3-0 victory to secure their place in the AFC Champions League Two Preliminary Round.

Riding on a sensational brace by Spanish midfielder Borja Herrera, the Gaurs displayed clinical attacking football and relentless defensive discipline to bag their second Super Cup title, becoming the first team to achieve this feat in the tournament’s history.

Borja struck first in the 22nd minute, capitalizing on a loose ball in the box and converting with his second attempt. He doubled the lead soon after the break, in the 51st minute, carving through the Jamshedpur midfield and defence before slotting home a composed left-footed finish past the goalkeeper.

The third and final blow came from Serbian forward Dejan Drazic, who latched onto a pinpoint through pass from Carl McHugh to calmly finish and seal the result for FC Goa.

Despite challenging weather conditions and a spirited Jamshedpur squad, FC Goa remained unfazed and resolute in defence, riding out the heavy showers in the closing stages to ensure a clean sheet.

The win also marked a significant statement from FC Goa, who had earlier outclassed ISL champions Mohun Bagan 3-1 in the semifinals, while Jamshedpur FC had narrowly edged out Mumbai City FC with a 1-0 win to reach the final.

FC Goa’s triumph not only adds silverware to their cabinet but also propels them into continental action, booking a coveted spot in the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Two Preliminary Round — a major step for the club on the Asian stage.
