
Bhubaneswar: “Factsheet on Coastal Wetlands” under the #Youth4WaterIndia campaign was unveiled at the Kushabhadra mouth of the Bay of Bengal near Konark on the occasion of World Wetlands Day 2023.
Unveiling the Factsheet at a function organised by the School of Sustainability, XIM University, the Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera invited the youths to participate in the campaign actively and be the champions in conservation actions to protect our wetlands.
Informing about the Factsheet, Co-founder Youth4WaterIndia campaign, Ranjan Panda shared that it gives an introductory understanding on coastal wetlands and also tips to youths on what they can do to conserve these precious coastal commons as well as other wetlands.
A photography competition for youths on the theme “Wetlands and Us” has also been announced. This apart, a drawing and painting competition on Wetlands has also been planned at Sambalpur on February 5 and an exposure-cum-interaction programme for youths to the Hirakud Ramsar Site is planned on February 12.
