
Bhubaneswar: Face mask at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) has been made mandatory for fliers.
The decision has been taken in view of rising COVID cases in other parts of the country specially in New Delhi.
Briefing media personnel on Thursday, Prabhat Ranjan Beura, director of BPIA, informed that the step has been taken considering a rise in daily positive cases in New Delhi and other parts of the country.
As per the instruction of the state health department, wearing face mask is mandatory for passengers, employees of the airport, all airlines and ground staff.
The security staff at the airport has been directed to ensure the implementation of new rule. Those violating it would face a strict legal action.
