“Enterprise, Odisha” Conference to Boost Business Opportunities in Western Odisha

Jharsuguda: Jharsuguda is set to host the “Enterprise, Odisha” conference from January 19th to 21st, organized by the Confederation of Indian Enterprises (CII). The 24th edition of the CII Conference, a crucial platform for business networking and collaboration, will take place at the Jharsuguda Exhibition Grounds.

In anticipation of this significant event, a preparatory meeting was convened at Lokseva Bhavan, chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Pradeep Kumar Jena. The meeting focused on the conference’s arrangements, program outline, and the state government’s support.

While the previous edition of the conference was held in Bhubaneswar, this marks the first time it will take place in Jharsuguda. The primary goal is to offer business opportunities to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Odisha, with a particular focus on Jharsuguda and Western Odisha in industrial and allied sectors. The conference aims to establish links between these enterprises and large industrial counterparts, foster women entrepreneurs, and promote startups.

The event is expected to draw participation from hundreds of companies, CEOs of industrial organizations, CXOs, procurement managers, and industry representatives from India and abroad.

CII Chairman Mr. Shashi Shekhar Mohanty provided insights into the conference’s preparation during the meeting. The opening session on the first day will feature representatives from various industrial organizations sharing their experiences. Simultaneously, an industrial exhibition on Vision Odisha-2030 and the role of the Biju Economic Corridor in the state and country’s economic development, will be inaugurated.

The second day will focus on skill development, agriculture, food processing, and startup-related programs. Distinguished guests, including the Honorable Chief Minister of Odisha, other ministers, senior administrative officers, and district collectors of various Western Odisha districts, are expected to attend on different days.

The conference will cover a diverse range of topics, including industrial products, infrastructure, industrial sustainability solutions, energy efficiency, renewable energy use, industrial safety, technological innovation, information technology, and sectors such as mechanical and electrical capital, chemicals, petrochemicals, metallurgy-related industries, rare earth minerals, and financial assistance.

Key officials present in the preparatory meeting included Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Mrs. Anu Garg, Chief Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhi, Chief Secretary Industries Mr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, and Chief Secretary Rural Development, Information, and Public Relations Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh. Other attendees included IPICOL Managing Director Mr. Bhupendra Singh Punia, CII Vice President Dr. Pradipta Mohanty, Regional Director John Kuruvila, State Head Ashok Barat, and other officials from the State Industries Department.

The “Enterprise, Odisha” conference, organized by CII, seeks to create an enabling environment for the development of the state and country through collaborative efforts with industry bodies, government, and civil society.
