Empowering MSMEs: Quality Council of India and ONDC Launch DigiReady Certification Portal

New Delhi:  In a groundbreaking move towards bolstering digital inclusion in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the Quality Council of India (QCI) and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) proudly announce the launch of the DigiReady Certification (DRC) portal. Recognizing the vital role played by MSMEs in shaping the nation’s economic landscape, this initiative aims to assess and certify the digital readiness of MSME entities.

The DRC portal, a collaborative effort between QCI and ONDC, offers an online self-assessment tool designed to empower MSMEs to evaluate their digital preparedness. This certification process is poised to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience for MSMEs as sellers on the ONDC platform, expanding their digital capabilities and unlocking new business potentials.

The certification process, conducted through the DRC portal, encompasses a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of digital readiness. This includes assessing the presence of necessary documentation for online operations, proficiency in utilizing software and technology, seamless integration with existing digitized workflows, and efficient management of orders and catalogue offerings.

Shri Jaxay Shah, Chairperson of QCI, expressed, “The DigiReady Certification (DRC) initiative aligns with our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to sensitize villages and promote digital transactions. It resonates with the objectives of the recently launched FIRST (Forum for Internet Retailers, Sellers, and Traders). The launch of the DRC portal marks a pivotal moment in our mission to empower MSMEs and make e-commerce more inclusive and accessible.”

Mr. T Koshy, MD & CEO of ONDC, emphasized the transformative potential of the DigiReady certification, stating, “DRC can be a transformative leap for MSMEs, equipping them with the digital capabilities needed to navigate the evolving e-commerce business landscape. DRC accelerates the integration of MSMEs into the Network while also amplifying their potential to thrive in the digital economy. It’s a testament to our commitment to foster digital inclusion to enable a more robust and empowered future for everyone.”

The DigiReady Certification portal stands as a beacon of progress, fostering a digital ecosystem that empowers MSMEs and makes e-commerce more accessible and inclusive for all. This collaborative effort is poised to drive positive change in the MSME sector, further contributing to India’s economic growth and digital transformation.
