Ekamra Utsav to begin from Feb 3

Bhubaneswar: Marking the inauguration of the World Odia Language Conference, the vibrant Ekamra Utsav is set to commence tomorrow in Bhubaneswar, creating a cultural spectacle that pays homage to the diversity and richness of Odia language and heritage. The festival, scheduled to run until February 9, encompasses a blend of cultural events, gastronomic delights, and a night flea market.

The focal point of Ekamra Utsav is the enchanting “Sangitara Murchana” at the IDCO Exhibition Ground. This main event promises a mesmerizing display of live music, band performances, and various performing arts, all rooted in Odia language and culture. Renowned artists from across the nation and the region will grace the stage, providing a captivating experience for attendees.

Complementing the cultural extravaganza, the festival presents the “AMA BYANJAN” Food Festival. This culinary celebration aims to showcase the diverse and flavorful regional cuisine of Odisha. Located at the IDCO Exhibition Ground, the Food Festival invites visitors to indulge in authentic local delicacies representing various districts of the state. The vibrant food area also features experience zones, a bustling flea market, and a diverse range of cuisines, including continental options.

Adding to the festive spirit is the Ekamra Haat (Night Flea Market), scheduled from February 3 to February 9 at the Ekamra Expo Area in Bhubaneswar. Operating from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM daily, this cultural showcase blends Odia heritage with the city’s lively atmosphere, offering a unique experience for visitors.

A special drone show on February 7, 8, and 9 will illuminate the skies, celebrating Odia language, art, and culture. Utilizing 200 drones, the show will create visually stunning displays, while the Madhusudan Marg leading to the venue will showcase designs inspired by Odia language, art, and culture.

Ekamra Utsav pays homage to the profound legacy and ancient roots of the Odia Language, presenting an exhibition that delves into the intricacies of the Odia alphabet. This comprehensive event is designed to celebrate the diverse cultural facets of Odisha, encompassing cinema, language, literature, and every aspect that defines the Odia identity.
