Education Boost in Odisha as 576 Hindi and Sanskrit Teachers Join Government High Schools

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move to strengthen the education system in Odisha, a total of 576 Hindi and Sanskrit teachers have been appointed in various government high schools in the state. Among them, 368 teachers specialize in Hindi, while 208 are experts in Sanskrit.

The formal induction took place during an orientation program and recruitment function held at the convention center in Lok Seva Bhawan, where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik handed over appointment letters to the newly appointed teachers.

Chief Minister Patnaik, addressing the gathering, emphasized the transformative power of education in shaping the nation’s thinking and consciousness. He urged the teachers to inspire students to pursue their dreams and encouraged them to become role models for their students.

Highlighting the success of the 5T (Technology, Teamwork, Transparency, Time, and Transformation) School Transformation Programme, Patnaik stated that it has led to a comprehensive overhaul of the infrastructure and environment in schools across the state. The quality of education in government and government-aided schools has witnessed a significant improvement.

Under the high school transformation program, the Chief Minister mentioned the creation of 4,605 new classrooms, 16,920 smart classrooms, 7,863 modern laboratories, and 7,920 e-libraries. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to recruiting more teachers, citing the appointment of 4,742 teachers at the secondary level in the current academic year.

School and Public Education Minister Sudam Marndi, also present at the program, praised the Education Department’s achievements under the 5T mantra. He stressed that as the standard of education rises, the nation’s development follows suit. Marndi encouraged teachers to actively contribute to improving the moral thinking of students.

During the event, two newly recruited teachers, Reshma Behera and Sashmita Nayak, shared their experiences. Reshma, coming from a family of educators, expressed gratitude for the transparent and bureaucratic recruitment process based on the 5T principles. Sashmita, the first government employee in her family, pledged to provide education with a commitment to the future of children.

Education Department Secretary Aswathy S delivered the welcome speech, and Director Sushant Das proposed the vote of thanks, concluding the event on an optimistic note for the future of education in Odisha.
