
New Delhi: In response to the growing demands from passengers seeking to travel to various destinations across the country during the summer season, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the operation of several Special Trains. These special services aim to alleviate the rush in regular trains and facilitate hassle-free travel for commuters.
The Special Trains, covering a wide array of routes, will commence operations from key railway stations including Puri, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Sambalpur, Cuttack, and Brahmapur. Passengers are urged to avail of these services to plan their journeys effectively and avoid overcrowding in regular trains.
Among the notable routes covered by the Special Trains are:
Puri-Udhna (Surat) Bi-weekly Summer Special Train: Operating from April 25 to June 27, this train will run on Mondays and Thursdays from Puri to Udhna and on Tuesdays and Fridays in the reverse direction.
Puri-New Delhi Weekly Summer Special Train: Scheduled from April 30 to June 25, this train will operate on Tuesdays from Puri to New Delhi and on Wednesdays from New Delhi to Puri.
Sambalpur-Erode Weekly Summer Special Train: Running from May 1 to June 26, this train will run on Wednesdays from Sambalpur to Erode and on Fridays from Erode to Sambalpur.
Visakhapatnam-Bengaluru Summer Special Train: Operational from April 27 to June 29, this train will ply on Saturdays from Visakhapatnam to SMVT, Bengaluru, and on Sundays from SMVT, Bengaluru, to Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam-Chennai Egmore Summer Special Train: Commencing from April 27 to June 29, this train will operate on Saturdays from Visakhapatnam to Chennai Egmore and on Sundays from Chennai Egmore to Visakhapatnam.
Visakhapatnam-Hatia Summer Special Train: Running from April 28 to June 30, this train will run on Sundays from Visakhapatnam to Hatia and on Mondays from Hatia to Visakhapatnam.
In addition to these, ECoR will operate 13 pairs of long-distance Special Trains connecting major destinations across the country. These services include routes such as Secunderabad-Dibrugarh, Chennai-Santragachhi, Bengaluru-Kharagpur, and more.
