DRDO Successfully Tests Agni-5 Missile with MIRV Technology in Mission Divyastra

 

Bhadrak: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) marked a historic milestone today with the successful flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile featuring Multiple Independently Targetable Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. The mission, aptly named Mission Divyastra, took place from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha, showcasing India’s advancements in missile technology.

The test, which demonstrated the capabilities of the Agni-5 missile equipped with MIRV technology, was closely monitored by various telemetry and radar stations. Multiple re-entry vehicles were tracked and observed throughout the mission, and the results met the predefined parameters, signifying the accomplishment of the mission’s objectives.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi expressed his admiration for the dedication and expertise of the DRDO scientists who played a crucial role in the successful execution of Mission Divyastra. In a social media post on platform X, he commended the team, stating, “Proud of our DRDO scientists for Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.”

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the scientists and the entire team involved in the mission. He described the test as an “exceptional success,” highlighting the significance of India’s advancements in defense capabilities.

The successful test of the Agni-5 missile with MIRV technology reinforces India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology and enhances its strategic capabilities. The achievement is expected to bolster the nation’s defense preparedness and contribute to maintaining peace and security in the region.
