
Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, chaired a comprehensive review meeting today on the functions and infrastructure of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) at Krushi Bhavan.
Singh Deo expressed his gratitude to all involved for the successful organization of the OUAT Convocation Ceremony on December 5, which was graced by President Droupadi Murmu. He commended the team for their efforts in making the event memorable.
During the review, detailed discussions were held on OUAT’s activities, including its infrastructure, classrooms, hostel facilities, teaching staff, and the filling of vacant positions. Singh Deo emphasized the need for the timely completion of ongoing developmental projects and provided guidance to expedite progress.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening the agriculture sector and empowering farmers, Singh Deo reiterated the administration’s vision to upgrade OUAT into a world-class institution. This transformation aims to enhance not only the Bhubaneswar campus but also the satellite campuses in other districts of Odisha, ensuring a comprehensive upliftment of agricultural education and research in the state.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department Dr. Arainda Kumar Padhee, Special Secretary Dillip Kumar Parida, OUAT Vice Chancellor Prabhat Kumar Raul, and other senior officials. Valuable suggestions and updates were shared, furthering the mission to make OUAT a center of excellence in agricultural education and innovation.
