Deputy CM Pravati Parida Lauds Mission Shakti Bazaar, Emphasizes Expansion Across Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida visited the Mission Shakti Bazaar at the SIRD campus in Bhubaneswar, where she commended the exceptional quality of handmade products crafted by Mission Shakti artisans. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of establishing similar outlets across various regions of Odisha to enhance marketability and support local artisans.

The Mission Shakti Bazaar is a showcase of Odisha’s rich tradition of handicrafts, handlooms, and other indigenous products. It serves as a platform for women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under Mission Shakti to exhibit and sell their products, contributing significantly to the economic empowerment of women in the state.

Expressing her admiration for the exquisite craftsmanship on display, Parida highlighted the transformative impact of Mission Shakti on the lives of thousands of women in Odisha. “The quality and creativity of these products are remarkable. Expanding such outlets across the state will not only promote our traditional crafts but also provide greater economic opportunities for our women artisans,” she stated.

The Deputy Chief Minister also visited the Koraput Coffee outlet within the bazaar, where she enjoyed a cup of coffee and engaged in discussions about the local economy, the role of women in sustainable development, and potential initiatives to further support artisans across Odisha.

The visit underscored the state government’s commitment to promoting economic empowerment through Mission Shakti. By creating more platforms like the Mission Shakti Bazaar, the government aims to enhance the visibility and market outreach of these artisans, providing them with greater economic opportunities and recognition.

Accompanying the Deputy Chief Minister were Shalini Pandit, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary; Shri Vineet Bhardwaj, IAS, State Mission Director-cum-CEO of Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM); Sumitra Pattanaik, OAS, Additional Secretary to the Government of Odisha; along with other senior government officials, members of Khordha Matrushakti Farmers Producer Company, and representatives from Kalgudi (TSA).
