New Delhi: In a pioneering step towards democratizing access to cutting-edge education, Delhi’s first-ever mobile AI-STEM lab — Tinker on Wheels 2877A (ToW 2877A) — was officially launched today through a landmark collaboration between the Young Tinker Foundation, Delhi Capitals, and the GMR Varalakshmi Foundation.
More than just a science-on-wheels project, ToW 2877A represents a transformative educational initiative aimed at bringing hands-on learning in robotics, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, and entrepreneurship directly to schoolchildren, especially those who have had limited access to modern technology labs.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the GMR Campus, was graced by prominent dignitaries and changemakers. Ms. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, attended as the Chief Guest and officially flagged off the mobile lab. Also present were Mr. Arvind Khater (Delhi Capitals), Mr. Ashwini Saxena (CEO, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation), Mr. K. Narayana Rao (Deputy MD, GMR Group), and Mr. Anil Pradhan (Founder & CEO, Young Tinker Foundation).
“This initiative will take technology and innovation to the doorsteps of students across Delhi, breaking barriers of access and inspiring the next generation of creators and problem solvers,” said Anil Pradhan, the driving force behind the Young Tinker Foundation.
The ToW 2877A mobile lab is fully equipped with robotics kits, AI tools, 3D printers, electronics modules, and resources on entrepreneurship and innovation. Designed to be a traveling inspiration hub, the lab will visit schools across the capital, particularly in under-served areas, and deliver hands-on workshops that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
By taking high-tech learning directly to students, ToW 2877A marks a significant step in bridging the digital and opportunity divide in education — and sets a replicable model for cities across India.
