Bhubaneswar – In a strategic move to bolster the administrative team in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Odisha government has appointed Debi Prasad Mishra, Deputy Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development (H & UD) department, as the new Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The appointment was announced through a notification issued by the H & UD department on Monday. It stated, “Debi Prasad Mishra, Deputy Secretary, H & UD department is hereby deployed as Deputy Secretary to Chief Minister, Odisha with immediate effect. The salary and other financial benefits of Mishra will be drawn from H & UD Department as usual.”
This move comes shortly after the government appointed Umesh Chandra Tripathy, a senior Odisha Finance Service (OFS) officer, as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister. Tripathy, who was previously serving as additional secretary in the Steel & Mines Department, was transferred to the CMO on Saturday.
The CMO has seen several key appointments recently. Trilochan Mohanty, a senior Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer who was serving as Keonjhar sub-collector, was appointed as Joint Secretary. Additionally, Satish Chandra Samal, who was working as a senior private secretary in the Home Department, was appointed as Additional Private Secretary in the CM’s office.
