DARPG Initiates National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Way Forward

New Delhi: The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has taken a significant step towards the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Way Forward initiative. This endeavor aims to saturate e-services and promote the utilization of unified service delivery portals, fostering faceless and suo-moto entitlement-based delivery of services to bridge the gap between citizens and the government using technology.

In its monthly NeSDA Way Forward publication, DARPG actively encourages States/UTs to enhance their e-service delivery capabilities and adopt unified service delivery portals. The focus is on promoting seamless and efficient e-service delivery to citizens, leveraging technology for a smoother interface.

Jammu & Kashmir’s exemplary progress in e-governance, marked by the provision of 1120 e-services and achieving 100 percent service delivery through their unified e-UNNAT platform, has become a model for replication. In a collaborative effort, DARPG facilitated two days of meetings on February 19-20, 2024, between Senior Officials of the Government of Manipur and Government of Jammu & Kashmir. The objective was to strengthen Manipur’s unified service delivery portal based on the successful model implemented in Jammu & Kashmir.

Officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) and DARPG actively participated in the deliberations, contributing to the formulation of a roadmap for improvements and the expansion of e-services in Manipur. The collaborative efforts aim to enhance Manipur’s e-governance infrastructure, improve public service delivery efficiency, and significantly increase the online service portfolio.

In the first phase, Manipur plans to expand its online service offerings from the current 35 to 150, covering key departments such as Revenue, Home, Industry & Commerce, Social Welfare, PWD, and PHED. This strategic expansion aims to enhance accessibility and efficiency, ultimately improving the overall experience for citizens interacting with government agencies.

The partnership between Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir has yielded a comprehensive roadmap, ensuring efficiency, accessibility, and user-friendliness in the evolution of Manipur’s e-governance infrastructure. The collaborative effort is a significant stride towards promoting a citizen-centric approach and leveraging technology for efficient governance.
