Cyclone Yaas: Odisha CM Urges People to Move to Shelters Homes and To Use Double Masks

Bhubaneswar: With Cyclone Yaas coming closer to Odisha, the state is getting ready to brace the cyclone.

Addressing the state in a video message, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday urged people to move to shelter homes or pucca houses and use double masks as the state is facing two challenges simultaneously.

Terming Covid-19 and Cyclone Yaas as the two big challenges the state is going to face, he said, “We have to fight two problems at the same time. I request people to move to shelter homes or pucca houses and request everyone to use double masks. Wash and sanitize your hands frequently. I have directed all the collectors to distribute masks through SHGs among people”

Urging people to cooperate, he said, “In 2020 as well we dealt with Covid and cyclone Amphan. Cyclone is not new for Odisha but we have to be careful and be prepared. The state government is fully prepared to deal with the both challenges. Your cooperation would strengthen our preparedness.”
