
Bhubaneswar: Its mid-October and the coastal states of the eastern region of the country are bracing up to encounter a possible cyclone that is brewing up in the Bay of Bengal.
As per the forecast of India Meteorological Department (IMD) a cyclone is likely to form over west-central Bay of Bengal after October 22.
A low pressure area is likely to form over southeast and adjoining east central Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours, informed IMD.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a depression by 22nd October morning over central Bay of Bengal. It is very likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm over west central Bay of Bengal subsequently, it added.
