CSIR-NIScPR and Gurugram University Sign MoU to Advance Science Communication and Traditional Knowledge

New Delhi: To enhance collaboration in science communication and policy research, the CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research (CSIR-NIScPR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gurugram University on September 24, 2024, at the NIScPR’s Vigyan Sanchar Bhawan, Pusa Campus. This partnership is set to create new opportunities for both institutions in serving society through joint efforts in science communication, STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation) policy research, and the promotion of traditional knowledge.

During the MoU signing ceremony, Rajesh Kumar Singh Roushan, Controller of Administration, CSIR-NIScPR, and Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Registrar, Gurugram University, signed and exchanged the agreement. Both institutions highlighted the importance of this collaboration, with senior officials and academicians from Gurugram University, including Dr. Sarala Balachandran, Chairperson, Department of Chemistry; Dr. Dwivedi, Head of Nursing; and Dr. Rakesh Yogi, Chairperson, Media Studies, present at the event.

The Director of CSIR-NIScPR and the Vice Chancellor of Gurugram University shared their insights on the significance of this partnership, underlining the growing need for effective science communication and robust research into traditional knowledge systems. With seven decades of experience in science communication and policy research, CSIR-NIScPR is expected to provide strong support for the collaborative initiatives.

One of the key outcomes of this partnership will be the upcoming International Conference on Communication and Dissemination of Traditional Knowledge (CDTK-2024), scheduled for November 13-14, 2024, organized by CSIR-NIScPR in collaboration with Gurugram University. The conference aims to bring together experts and scholars from across the world to explore innovative approaches to traditional knowledge dissemination.
