CRUT Joins ONDC Platform to Launch Digital Ticketing

Bhubaneswar: In a major step toward enhancing urban mobility and accessibility, Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has become a digital ticketing seller on the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) platform. This integration marks a significant advancement in CRUT’s mission to improve the commuting experience by offering more versatile and convenient ticketing options.

The first ticket was issued through the ONDC platform in a ceremonial launch attended by Usha Padhi, Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department, Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Managing Director of CRUT, and Nitin Nair, Senior Vice President of ONDC. Chalo Mobility Pvt. Ltd. became the first buyer on the platform, marking the beginning of a new era of ticketing options beyond CRUT’s Mo Bus app.

The ONDC partnership allows CRUT to extend its digital services to a broader audience by enabling ticket purchases through any ONDC-compliant app. This advancement provides commuters with greater flexibility and convenience, aiming to streamline the ticketing process, reduce transaction times, and enable real-time updates for passengers.

Usha Padhi praised the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to reshape public transportation in Bhubaneswar. “This is a transformative step in making public transport more accessible, aligning with our goal of a smart and connected urban region,” she stated.

Dr. N. Thirumala Naik noted, “By integrating with ONDC, we are reinforcing our commitment to innovation in urban mobility. This collaboration not only enhances the commuter experience but also sets a new standard for digital ticketing in public transport.”

CRUT’s expansion into the ONDC ecosystem underscores its dedication to promoting digital innovation in India’s urban mobility sector. As CRUT continues to develop its digital offerings, it remains focused on creating a seamless, efficient, and commuter-friendly public transport experience.
