CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates Odisha Table Tennis Academy in Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Promoting a culture of sports and fitness in the city, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled the highly anticipated Odisha Table Tennis Academy in Kalinga Stadium. The inaugural event coincided with the launch of the 29th State Table Tennis Championship 2023, marking a significant milestone in the state’s sports development.

The cutting-edge Odisha Table Tennis Academy boasts a sprawling sports arena with sixteen premium-quality TT tables, accompanied by a fully-equipped gymnasium and a dedicated weightlifting room. The facility also encompasses a designated area for chess enthusiasts, as well as spaces specifically made for yoga and zumba, offering a comprehensive approach to wellness and fitness. The academy is poised to become a nurturing ground for a new generation of table tennis players from the state

Expressing his enthusiasm, Chief Minister stated, “The launch of the Odisha Table Tennis Academy signifies another significant step in our efforts to promote excellence in table tennis and sports overall. This academy will serve not only as a training ground for budding talents but also as a center for fostering recreational activities and competitive spirit.”

In addition to the Odisha Table Tennis Academy, the Chief Minister also announced the establishment of 33 Table Tennis Centers across various indoor halls in the state. These centers are slated to be fully operational by December 2023, each equipped with three high-quality table tennis tables.

Furthermore, the Cuttack Table Tennis Academy is set to become operational shortly, featuring 16 top-notch tables.

Chief Minister Patnaik applauded the Odisha State Table Tennis Association for their commendable efforts in promoting table tennis across the state. He pledged unwavering support to cultivate elite table tennis players from Odisha, who can proudly represent the nation on a global stage.
