CM Naveen Patnaik Emerges as Richest MLA, Makaranda Muduli as poorest : ADR Report

Bhubaneswar: The latest report by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) has shed light on the financial profiles of legislators in Odisha, revealing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as the wealthiest MLA in the state, with assets amounting to Rs 63 crore.

According to the ADR report, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik possesses immovable assets worth Rs 63,64,15,261 and movable assets worth Rs 23,26,555. This places him at the top of the list of affluent legislators in Odisha.

In stark contrast, Rayagada MLA Makaranda Muduli has been identified as the ‘poorest’ legislator in the state, as per the ADR report. Muduli, who secured victory in the Rayagada Assembly seat as an independent candidate during the 2019 Assembly polls in Odisha, ranks at the bottom among the 10 MLAs with the lowest assets in the state.

The report underscores that Muduli possesses only movable assets worth Rs 15,000, with no immovable assets to his name.

The ADR report provides valuable insights into the financial standings of legislators in Odisha, highlighting the diversity in their asset profiles and emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in public office.

The revelation of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s substantial assets, alongside the contrast with MLA Makaranda Muduli’s modest holdings, offers a glimpse into the varying economic backgrounds represented within the state’s legislative assembly.
