CM Majhi Unveils Development Projects Worth ₹160 Crore in Anandapur

Anandapur: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday inaugurated projects worth ₹42 crore and laid the foundation for additional works totaling ₹118 crore in the Anandapur sub-division of Keonjhar district. The announcements came during the 61st annual festival of Anandapur College, where the Chief Minister also unveiled a ₹7 crore package for the college’s development.

Addressing students and faculty at the event, Majhi pledged to transform Anandapur College into an autonomous institution. The ₹7 crore financial package will be used to construct a multi-purpose hall, a seminar hall, and upgrade sports facilities.

Reflecting on his days as a student at the college, he praised its academic excellence.
“Anandapur College has a legacy of producing brilliant students who consistently top university exams. I take immense pride in having studied here,” he said, encouraging students to work hard and trust their abilities.

To enhance medical facilities in the region, the Chief Minister announced ₹2 crore for the upgradation of Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital. Additionally, he allocated ₹20 crore for the completion of a stadium in Anandapur, underscoring the government’s commitment to sports development.

Majhi emphasized the successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Odisha, a move he said was long overdue due to previous political roadblocks.

“For years, the NEP was delayed in Odisha. We have now ensured its implementation, creating an education system that focuses on skill development and holistic learning,” he stated.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the introduction of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) with local contextualization, aligning the state’s education standards with national benchmarks.

In a major announcement, Majhi revealed that ₹41,273 crore has been allocated for education in the upcoming budget, with ₹3,655 crore specifically designated for higher education.

He also outlined the government’s plan to create 1.5 lakh government jobs in the next five years, ensuring a transparent and corruption-free recruitment process.

“We are committed to providing jobs based on merit, not money. Our students will get opportunities purely on the basis of their talent and hard work,” he assured.

Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, who attended the event, announced the revival of student union elections, allowing students to participate in campus governance. He also introduced plans for the establishment of Godavarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamik Vidyalaya, aimed at improving primary education across Odisha.

The event saw the presence of Keonjhar MP Anant Nayak, Ghasipura MLA Badri Narayan Patra, and Anandapur MLA Abhimanyu Sethi, among other prominent leaders.

With these announcements, the Odisha government has reinforced its commitment to education, healthcare, and infrastructure, paving the way for Anandapur’s development and progress.
