China Reports the First Human Case of H10N3 Bird Flu

China has reported the first case of human infection with the H10N3 strain of bird flu in the  eastern region of Jiangsu province. China’s National Health Commission informed about this on Tuesday.

The 41-year-old patient from Zhenjiang city who is now in a stable condition,  was diagnosed with the H10N3 avian influenza virus on May 28. According to the National Health Commission of China, no other cases of human infection have been reported so far.

The authorities informed that H10N3 is a low pathogenic or relatively less severe strain of the virus in poultry and there is low chance of it spreading on a large scale among humans.

In China various strains of avian influenza has been found of which a few have infected those working in poultry farm.
