Bhubaneswar: The Revenue Officers’ Training Institute (ROTI) on Friday hosted the valedictory ceremony for the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) DR-2023 batch, marking the successful completion of their institutional training programme.
The four-week training, conducted from April 6 to May 2, saw 30 OAS probationers undergo intensive preparation in administrative functions and governance. The ceremony was presided over by Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
Addressing the probationers, Garg highlighted the evolving responsibilities of civil servants in the context of a “Viksit Odisha” and underscored the importance of the state’s Vision 2036, anchored on the pillars of prosperity, health and inclusivity. She urged the young officers to ensure transparent and time-bound delivery of public services, guided by the “7-S model” of governance—Scale, Speed, Synergy, System, Sustainability, Service and Stakeholders.
Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Arabinda Kumar Padhee, also addressed the gathering, encouraging the probationers to uphold integrity, professionalism and sensitivity in public service, ensuring governance remains humane and citizen-centric.
Earlier, ROTI Director Diganta Routroy, in his welcome address, emphasised the critical role of OAS officers in land and development administration, key areas for the state’s growth trajectory.
During the ceremony, certificates of completion and appreciation were presented to the probationers. Two senior resource persons were also felicitated by the Chief Secretary for their contributions to the training programme.
