Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell Closed on July 29 Due to Vidhan Sabha Session

Bhubaneswar: The Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell (CMGC) will remain closed on July 29, Monday, owing to the ongoing assembly session of the 17th Vidhan Sabha. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will not be conducting his usual grievance hearing and redressal session due to the first assembly session of the new government.

Since taking office as the Chief Minister of Odisha, Majhi has been holding grievance hearings at the CMGC every Monday, providing an opportunity for people from across the state to present their concerns directly to him and other officials. This practice has been a key part of his administration’s effort to address public issues promptly and transparently.

However, due to the assembly’s first session, which began on July 22, the CMGC will be temporarily closed to the public. This is not the first instance of such a closure; the cell was previously closed during significant events like the Rath Yatra.

The first session of the 17th Vidhan Sabha is significant as it marks the beginning of the new government’s term. On Thursday, Chief Minister Majhi presented the Odisha Budget 2024-25, proposing an outlay of Rs 2,65,000 crore. The budget aims to address various developmental goals and the state’s needs in the upcoming fiscal year.

Citizens are advised to note the closure and plan their visits accordingly. The CMGC is expected to resume its regular operations once the assembly session concludes.
