Changla Lamos and Purig Warriors Shine in Day 5 of Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League Season 2

Leh: Day 5 of the Royal Enfield Ice Hockey League Season 2 witnessed thrilling performances and intense matchups at the Nawang Dorjay Stobdan (NDS) Stadium in Leh. Tsewang Chuskit led Changla Lamos to a dominant 6-0 victory over Humas Queens, while Purig Warriors secured their second win of the season with a 4-2 triumph over Zangskar Chadar Tamers. Defending champions Kang Sings held Humas Warriors to a 2-2 draw in a dramatic encounter, while United Nubra and Shakar Chiktan Royals played out a 2-2 draw in an equally competitive game.

Tsewang Chuskit Leads Changla Lamos to Victory

Changla Lamos showcased a remarkable performance as Tsewang Chuskit scored five goals in a 6-0 rout of Humas Queens. The Lamos dominated from the outset, with Chuskit netting two goals in the first period (6th and 15th minutes). Tsewang Yagdol added to the tally in the second period, and Chuskit’s relentless performance continued with two more goals in the same period, extending the lead to 5-0. Chuskit sealed her spectacular outing with a final goal in the third period, ensuring a comprehensive victory. This performance secured Changla Lamos a spot in the semi-finals, marking their first win of the season and the top position in Group B.

Purig Warriors Extend Winning Streak

Purig Warriors maintained their impressive run with a 4-2 victory over Zangskar Chadar Tamers. Kunchuk Thapa set the tone with a brilliant wrist shot just six minutes into the game, followed by Nadeem Sarwar extending the lead to 2-0. Tharpa’s double strike in the first period (31st and 40th minutes) gave the Warriors a commanding 3-0 advantage at the break. Zangskar Tamers fought back in the second period with Stanzin Lakpa’s goal, reducing the deficit to 3-1. Nawaz Ali’s early goal in the final period secured the 4-1 lead, despite a late response from Stangzin Wangbo for Zangskar Tamers.

Kang Sings and Humas Warriors Share Points

Defending champions Kang Sings battled hard to earn a 2-2 draw against Humas Warriors. Tsering Angchuk opened the scoring for Kang Sings in the 5th minute, but Issa Mohd quickly equalized for Warriors in the 10th minute. The second period saw a cautious approach from both sides, keeping the score tied at 1-1. In the final period, Waseem Bilal gave Warriors a brief lead, only for Stanzin Lotos to score a crucial equalizer for Kang Sings, ensuring the game ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

United Nubra and Shakar Chiktan Royals Share Thrilling 2-2 Draw

United Nubra and Shakar Chiktan Royals delivered an intense 2-2 draw in their closely contested match. Tamim Rashid opened the scoring for Nubra in the second period, but Altaf Hussain and Shabir Shah quickly turned the game around for Royals with clinical strikes in the 25th and 34th minutes. Murtaza Ali’s stunning snap shot in the 43rd minute equalized for Nubra, ensuring a nail-biting finish with both teams sharing points.

Upcoming Matches and Semi-Final Outlook

As the group stages near their conclusion, Changla Blaster will face Shakar Chiktan Royals, and Purig Warriors will battle Maryul Spawo in the final group-stage matches. In the women’s category, Sham Eagles will compete against Maryul Spamo in their last group game. The semi-finals for both categories are scheduled for January 11, with the women’s final on January 12 and the men’s championship final on January 13.
