Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, Kartik Pandian, Applauds Hockey Enthusiasm in Sundargarh

Bhubaneswar: Kartik Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, visited the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela today to witness the Men’s FIH Pro League 2023/24 match between India and Netherlands.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the sport, Kartik Pandian highlighted the immense popularity of hockey in Sundargarh and the decisive role it played in the construction of the world’s largest stadium in Rourkela for the upcoming World Cup. He noted that this initiative by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh. Naveen Patnaik pays homage to the passionate hockey enthusiasts of Sundargarh and positions Rourkela as a global hub for hockey. Shri Kartik Pandian commended the local spectators for creating an unparalleled ambiance that contributes to making the venue a distinguished destination for international hockey events.

During the halftime break of the match, Shri Kartik Pandian shared his thoughts, stating, “India has been displaying excellent performance and significant potential in hockey. Similarly, it is essential to inject more professionalism into the management of sports across various disciplines. Corporates should actively invest in sports and collaborate with federations and governments to elevate the sports ecosystem in the country.”

Wishing all the participating teams success in the ongoing Pro League, Shri Kartik Pandian expressed optimism that the teams would take home fond memories of their time in Odisha.
