Chairman 5T Kartik Pandian Reviews Developmental Projects and Engages with Students in Puri

Bhubaneswar: In line with the directives of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chairman 5T and Nabin Odisha, Kartik Pandian, conducted a comprehensive review of various developmental projects during his visit to Puri District on February 4, 2024. His visit aimed to assess the progress of ongoing initiatives and engage with students and the general public.

As part of the visit, Kartik Pandian actively participated in the Nua-O Program organized in Puri, where he interacted with students from all colleges in the district. The Nua-O Program serves as a platform for young talents to showcase their skills and contribute to their overall personality development, complementing their academic achievements. Pandian encouraged students to strive for success with self-confidence and shared insights on the transformative impact of the college projects underway in the district, slated for completion by March.

Emphasizing the importance of setting high aspirations, Pandian highlighted the achievements of notable personalities from Puri district, including Prasanna Kumar Hota (IAS, Retd. Health Secretary, Govt of India), Gopal Nanda (IPS, Ex – DG, Odisha Police), Kishore Jena (Athlete), Miss Jayanti Behera (Paralympic athlete), Malay Kumar Mishra (IFS, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Hungary), Sudarshan Sahoo (Sculpture artist), Sudarshan Pattnaik (Sand artist), and Dr. Ashok Mohapatra (Ex-Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar). He urged students to draw inspiration from these role models, who emerged from various Government Schools and Colleges in Puri.

During the visit, Kartik Pandian conducted a detailed review of key developmental projects, including the 650-bed Teaching Hospital in Puri with an estimated cost of Rs. 309 Crores. He emphasized the need for timely completion and instructed officials to expedite the work.

The Konark Heritage Area Development Project, valued at Rs. 172 Crores, was also scrutinized to ensure its progress aligns with the established timeline. Additionally, Shri Pandian assessed the status of 10 Multipurpose Cyclone Shelters, sanctioned at a total cost of Rs. 20 Crores following his visit in August 2023.

Kartik Pandian took stock of several temple development projects, such as Loknath Temple, Puri (Rs. 35.42 Crores), Maa Mangala Temple, Kakatpur (Rs. 11.85 Crores), Alarnath Pitha, Brahmagiri (Rs. 9.11 Crores), Siruli Mahaveer Temple (Rs. 6.02 Crores), Baliharchandi Temple (Rs. 5.41 Crores), Somnath Temple, Nimapara (Rs. 4.94 Crores), among others.

Engaging with the public at Bhudan Field, Talabania, Puri, Kartik Pandian addressed grievances on various issues and assured prompt resolutions. The visit underscored the commitment to advancing developmental initiatives and fostering direct communication with the community.
