
Bhubaneswar: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, today convened a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties in Bhubaneswar to discuss the ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of the electoral roll for the forthcoming bye-election to the 71-Nuapada Assembly Constituency.
The meeting, held in line with the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and taking July 1, 2025 as the qualifying date, focused on ensuring greater transparency and participation in the electoral process.
CEO Shri R.S. Gopalan, IAS, who chaired the meeting, stressed the importance of appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at the earliest. He said the active participation of BLAs would make the revision exercise more effective and ensure wider grassroots involvement.
During the interaction, soft copies of the draft electoral roll for the Nuapada Assembly Constituency were formally handed over to party representatives for scrutiny and feedback.
