CDS General Anil Chauhan Inaugurates Techkriti 2025 at IIT Kanpur, Emphasizes Future Warfare and Technological Advancements

Kanpur: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan inaugurated Techkriti 2025, Asia’s largest intercollegiate technical and entrepreneurial festival, at IIT Kanpur. Speaking in a Fireside Chat, the CDS provided key insights into the modernization and advancement of the Indian Armed Forces, addressing the need to prepare for future warfare in cyber, artificial intelligence, quantum, and cognitive domains.

In his keynote address, General Chauhan stressed the importance of embracing technological innovations, strategic adaptability, and forward-thinking approaches to meet evolving security challenges. He inspired an audience of scholars, students, and NCC cadets, emphasizing the values of discipline, resilience, courage, and sacrifice. His words motivated young minds to explore careers in defence and technology, underlining the crucial role of innovation in national security.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, AOC-in-C, Central Air Command, and Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur. This year’s Techkriti theme, “Panta Rhei” (Everything Flows), symbolizes the continuous evolution of technology and innovation, setting the stage for an impactful celebration of entrepreneurship and scientific discovery.

A special segment, ‘Rakshakriti,’ a dedicated Defence Expo, emerged as a key highlight of Techkriti 2025. The exhibition showcased cutting-edge defence technology, fostering collaboration between the armed forces, academia, and the defence industry. General Chauhan interacted with young technologists, emphasizing the significance of autonomous drones and advanced defence innovations in enhancing national security and reducing import dependence. The event served as a vital platform for connecting researchers with industry leaders, paving the way for technological advancements in India’s defence sector.
