BMC Announces 5% Rebate on Advance Online Holding Tax Payments

Bhubaneswar: To encourage early tax payments and promote digital transactions, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has introduced a five per cent rebate on holding tax for the 2025-26 financial year. Property owners who make advance payments online via the Bhubaneswar.me portal before April 30 will be eligible for this benefit.

To facilitate smooth tax collection, BMC has set up 22 revenue camps across the city, allowing taxpayers to clear their dues conveniently. These camps are strategically placed across different zones:

  • Southeast zone – 13 camps

  • Southwest zone – 5 camps

  • North zone – 4 camps

The camps will operate from 10 AM to 5 PM on all working days throughout April, offering citizens ample time to pay their holding tax and avail of the rebate. The initiative also allows property owners to settle any outstanding dues at these camps.

BMC has set an ambitious revenue target for the 2025-26 fiscal year, aiming to collect ₹119.5 crore from holding/property tax and ₹15.8 crore from hoardings and advertisements on both government and private land. The tax collection process is expected to be completed by April 28, with revenue reports anticipated between May 10 and 15.

By offering incentives for early payments and improving accessibility through revenue camps, BMC seeks to enhance tax compliance, boost municipal revenues, and ensure better civic infrastructure for Bhubaneswar’s residents.
