BJD Mourns the Loss of Veteran Leader V Sugnana Kumari Deo

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, along with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) members, paid heartfelt tributes to the late BJD leader and former MLA V. Sugnana Kumari Deo at the party office, “Sankha Bhawan.”

The mortal remains of Sugnana Deo were flown from Chennai to Sankha Bhawan for the last rites.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his condolences earlier in the day, stating that he was deeply saddened by the passing of Sugnana Kumari Deo, a revered politician and a key figure in shaping the BJD. She served the public diligently, representing Khalikote and Kabisuryanagar assembly constituencies for ten consecutive terms. Her demise is an irreplaceable loss, and the Chief Minister extended his sympathies to her grieving family.

Before her demise, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik visited the private hospital in Chennai where she was undergoing treatment to inquire about her health condition.

Sankha Bhawan witnessed the gathering of several BJD leaders and workers who came to pay their last respects to the departed leader. The demise of Sugnana Kumari Deo marks a significant loss for the BJD, and her contributions to Odisha’s political landscape will be remembered with reverence.
