Bill and Melinda Gates Heading for Separation

Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates are getting divorce after 27 years of marriage. In a joint statement they announced about their  divorce. Posting on Twitter, the couple said, “After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage”.

Bill and Melinda met in the late 1980s and got married in 1994. They have three children. They jointly run the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which works for improving health, education of developing countries.

In a statement, they assured that they would continue to work together for the foundation. “We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundations, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in this next phase of our lives.”
