Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Police have put in place extensive arrangements to ensure the peaceful celebration of Ganesh Puja on September 7. This year, authorities have banned the use of DJs during the festivities, urging the use of traditional musical instruments instead.
Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh stated that detailed discussions have been held with puja committees to address their concerns and outline the guidelines for the celebrations. “We have discussed all matters related to the processions, scheduled for September 8, 11, and 15. The use of traditional musical instruments instead of DJs has been emphasized, and puja committees must ensure that city traffic remains unaffected by the processions,” Singh explained.
Additional topics, such as providing ample parking spaces, implementing fire safety measures, installing CCTV cameras, and deploying volunteers, were also covered during the discussions with the committees.
On Saturday, Police Commissioner Sanjeev Panda issued a warning that strict action will be taken against anyone creating distorted idols of Ganesha. He also mentioned that any club or institution found defacing statues would face legal consequences.
