Bharat Sports Science Conclave: Elite Athletes and Experts Convene to Elevate Indian Sports

New Delhi: The inaugural Bharat Sports Science Conclave, scheduled for Wednesday, will witness a gathering of esteemed athletes and sports science experts to explore ways of integrating sports science to enhance performance. Tokyo Olympic Gold Medallist Neeraj Chopra, India’s first individual Olympics gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, and 2003 World Championship bronze winner Anju Bobby George are among the top names participating in the conclave.

Other notable figures include Olympics Bronze Medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, Indian Cricketer Deepak Chahar, and sports science experts like South African Athlete Performance Specialist Wayne Lombard and President of Indian Rugby Football Union Rahul Bose.

Organized by TransStadia University, in collaboration with the National Centre of Sports Science and Research (NCSSR) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the one-day conclave aims to support high-level research in high performance and sports training for Indian sports and athletes. Focused on realizing the objectives and goals of Vision Olympics 2036, the event will delve into subjects related to high performance, athlete perspectives, and the latest advancements in sports science.

Neeraj Chopra and Deepak Chahar will join virtually to share their insights on high performance, addressing the needs and requirements of athletes. Abhinav Bindra, who has been actively working to mainstream high performance and sports science in India, expressed the importance of embracing advancements in sports science to unlock unprecedented potential, optimize training regimes, and reduce the risk of injuries.

The conclave will feature experts who usually work behind the scenes, including G. Vani Bhushanam, lead nutritionist of Sports Authority of India (SAI); Dr. Pralay Majumdar, Senior Advisor, Sports Science Education and Research at IIT, Madras; Dr. Nanaki J Chadha, Sports & Performance Psychologist and Former Indian Golfer; Dr. Pierre Beauchamp, High-Performance Director, National Rifle Association of India; and Amey Kolekar, Head of Sports Science, Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence.

Udit Sheth, Founder and Chairman of TransStadia University, emphasized the conclave’s role in creating a strong ecosystem of experts to enhance the impact of sports science for Indian sports. The event will also feature a special session by TOPS CEO, Cmdr PK Garg, and a presentation on Integrity and Fair Play by Mr. Virendra Rajput, Senior Project Associate at the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).
