Noida: Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) successfully conducted its inaugural pre-bid meeting for its first Coal Gasification project today in Noida. The meeting witnessed the participation of representatives from eight prospective bidders and served as a comprehensive platform for discussions, clarifications, collaboration opportunities, and dissemination of vital project information.
Under the strategic guidance of the Ministry of Coal, BCGCL has issued tenders for three Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) packages. LSTK-2 was floated on May 30, followed by LSTK-3 and LSTK-4 on June 14. These tenders are critical steps towards finalizing the Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) necessary for the project’s progress.
The government has approved an investment and the formation of a joint venture company between Coal India Limited (CIL) and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), with CIL holding a 51% stake. As a result, BCGCL, a subsidiary of CIL, has been established to advance coal-to-chemicals operations.
BCGCL continues to make significant strides with its maiden Coal Gasification Project in India. The project, to be located in the Lakhanpur area of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in Odisha, has achieved crucial milestones with the recent issuance of tenders.
