Ashok Kumar Singh Takes Charge as Director General of ESIC

New Delhi: Ashok Kumar Singh, a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1999 Kerala cadre, has assumed the role of Director General of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment. The announcement was made at the ESIC Headquarters in New Delhi earlier today.

Singh brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having held several key roles at both the state and central levels. Prior to this appointment, he served as Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department in the Government of Kerala, where he played a significant role in the governance and management of state-level organizations.

At the central government level, Singh has an impressive track record, having served as Executive Director in the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, and Director in the Ministry of Finance. His extensive experience across various departments highlights his versatility and dedication to public service.

Singh’s academic credentials are equally notable. He holds an M. Phil from the National Defence College, New Delhi, and is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.

As the new Director General of ESIC, Singh is expected to lead the organization with his extensive expertise in governance and administration, focusing on the corporation’s mission to provide comprehensive social security to workers across the country.
