Greater Noida: Narayan Rane, the Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), is set to inaugurate the MSME Technology Centre in Greater Noida tomorrow. The event will witness the presence of Shri Rakesh Sachan, Minister of MSME, Khadi, Village Industries, Sericulture Industries, Handloom and Textile, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The inauguration ceremony will include the opening of three Technology Centres located in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), and Imphal (Manipur). Additionally, Shri Narayan Rane will remotely inaugurate two Extension Centres in Karimnagar and Bhavanipatna (Odisha). Two other significant remote inaugurations include the Development and Facilitation Office of DC (MSME) in Dehradun (Uttarakhand) and the Development and Facilitation Office (Nucleus Centre) in Ladakh.
A concurrent exhibition is planned where MSMEs will showcase their products across various sectors. The event will also feature stalls dedicated to special One District One Product (ODOP) products from various districts of Uttar Pradesh, as well as stalls from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and the Coir Board. Incubators, women entrepreneurs, and SC/ST entrepreneurs will also have dedicated spaces. Notably, 100 women entrepreneurs will be presented with toolkits under the ODOP scheme during the event.
The inauguration marks a significant step in promoting technological advancements and support for MSMEs across the country. The MSME Technology Centres play a crucial role in providing skill development, training, and support to entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth of the MSME sector.
The event will also shed light on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched on September 17, 2023, by the Prime Minister. This holistic scheme offers end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople in 18 trades. As of February 11, 2024, a total of 4,10,464 applications have been successfully registered under the scheme. To raise awareness about the scheme, an Experience Centre showcasing trades covered under it has been set up at the exhibition. The initiative aims to empower and uplift artisans and craftspeople across the nation.
