Bengaluru: Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy, Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi, will lay the foundation stone for a cutting-edge Electric Vehicle (EV) Testing Facility at the National Test House (NTH) RRSL Camp in Jakkuru, Bengaluru, today. The new facility marks a significant step in expanding India’s EV testing capabilities, particularly in the southern region, and will provide crucial support to the growing electric vehicle industry.
This state-of-the-art laboratory will focus on EV battery and charger testing, offering a range of vital tests such as electrical safety, durability, climate resilience, mechanical performance, and more. The new centre aims to enhance the electric vehicle ecosystem, promoting innovation and environmental sustainability in the automotive sector.
NTH, a premier scientific body under the Department of Consumer Affairs, will operate the facility, continuing its role as a leading agency in testing and quality assurance for national projects. The launch of the EV testing lab aligns with India’s broader goal of boosting infrastructure for sustainable energy solutions.
