New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, set the stage for “Karmayogi Saptah” by inaugurating the ‘Samuhik Charcha’ for officers of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions. During the event, Dr. Singh briefed the attendees about the objectives of Mission Karmayogi, the National Learning Week, and the Karmayogi Competency Model.
Dr. Singh emphasized that Mission Karmayogi signifies a paradigm shift from a “Rule” to “Role” based approach in governance, focusing on empowering civil servants to be driven by responsibilities rather than mere regulations. “Civil servants should adapt to changing times and engage in continuous learning, aligning with the dynamic needs of contemporary India,” the Minister stated.
He praised the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions for leading the way in initiating a regular cycle of learning under Mission Karmayogi. Dr. Singh recalled the inspiration behind the initiative, which stems from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a more responsive and efficient governance system.
Highlighting the cultural shift in governance, Dr. Singh said, “Mission Karmayogi fosters a responsive, dynamic system that will support bureaucrats in handling diverse tasks across different ministries.” The initiative promotes the “One Government” approach, creating a sustainable governance ecosystem that will contribute to the realization of the dream of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The Samuhik Charcha, a part of the National Learning Week program, is designed to facilitate collective learning among officers on a chosen theme, enabling them to exchange ideas and reflect on webinars that are part of the week’s agenda. “This cycle of brainstorming will create an aligned framework across industries and departments, driving collaboration across the government,” Dr. Singh noted.
The Minister also commended the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) for playing a pivotal role in executing Mission Karmayogi and emphasized the importance of continuous learning for officers who will be at the forefront of shaping the future of Vikasit Bharat 2047.
Through Mission Karmayogi, the government seeks to cultivate a learning culture that enhances efficiency and adaptability in governance, preparing India’s bureaucrats to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
