New Delhi: Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, unveiled The TeacherApp today, an innovative digital platform aimed at transforming education in India by equipping educators with the skills needed to thrive in 21st-century classrooms. The platform, developed by Bharti Airtel Foundation—the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises—was launched at a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries, including Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises Rakesh Bharti Mittal, CEO of Bharti Airtel Foundation Mamta Saikia, education sector leaders, school principals, teachers, and B.Ed. students.
In his address, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the central role of teachers in shaping the nation’s future. Speaking on the theme “Elevating Teachers, Elevating India,” he noted that The TeacherApp aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on continuous teacher capacity building through innovative resources, technology integration, and community engagement.
“Teachers are the real Karmayogis, shaping enlightened students and future generations. As India progresses in the knowledge-driven 21st century, educators will play a pivotal role in identifying opportunities for our youth to lead the nation’s growth,” he said.
The TeacherApp, accessible across Web, iOS, and Android platforms, offers over 260 hours of high-quality content, including courses, videos, podcasts, and webinars. The app aims to enhance pedagogical practices and boost student engagement through practical tools like teaching kits, project-based learning activities, worksheets, and lesson plans. Its unique Teaching Kits section includes 900 hours of curated content, such as question banks and interactive strategies, to assist teachers in classroom delivery.
In addition to educational resources, the platform hosts live expert sessions, thematic festivals, competitions, and quizzes to foster a collaborative learning environment. It also highlights inspiring stories of impactful educators, creating a community for peer learning and professional growth.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal, addressing the gathering, emphasized the app’s potential to empower teachers with world-class resources, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and innovation in classrooms. “For India to thrive as a global economic leader, our education system must prepare educators to deliver exceptional learning experiences. The TeacherApp is a step forward in that direction,” he said.
Aligned with the NEP 2020 vision, the app has already partnered with 12 states to promote its mission of transforming schools into safe, joyful learning spaces while preparing educators to meet the evolving needs of education in India.
