Raipur: In a significant stride towards enhancing the education landscape, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, joined forces with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to inaugurate 211 PM SHRI schools in Raipur today. The ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Minister of Education, Government of Chhattisgarh, Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal; Members of Parliament; Secretary, Department of School and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Shri Sanjay Kumar, and other distinguished guests.
Shri Pradhan also unveiled a Digital Library for Kendriya Vidyalaya and Virtual Reality labs for Navodaya Vidyalaya in the state, marking a technological leap in educational infrastructure. The event showcased an exhibition featuring the creative endeavors of school students, and three short films highlighting the PM SHRI Yojana, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Navodaya Vidyalaya were screened.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for bolstering the education ecosystem through initiatives like PM SHRI, Shri Pradhan lauded the confidence and hard work of Chhattisgarh’s students. He emphasized the significance of learning in the mother tongue for holistic development, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Shri Pradhan highlighted the introduction of Balvatika in schools, focusing on a child’s crucial brain development phase up to the age of 8.
Shri Vishnu Deo Sai expressed appreciation for PM SHRI schools, envisioning their positive impact on the state’s education system. Shri Sanjay Kumar emphasized the improved infrastructure of PM SHRI schools, aligning with world-class education standards. He elaborated on NEP 2020’s emphasis on critical thinking, moving away from rote learning, and the integration of skilling into the education system.
PM SHRI Schools, a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India, aims to establish over 14,500 schools, fostering a welcoming and caring learning environment with safe infrastructure and resources for all students. The inauguration marked a significant step towards the realization of this educational vision, emphasizing competency, employability, and innovation in the curriculum.
