Visakhapatnam: The Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) (PSU) Visakhapatnam meeting, hosted by NTPC, took place today, showcasing the commitment of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in promoting the use of Hindi. The event highlighted the presentation of the prestigious ‘Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman’ and ‘Nagar Rajbhasha Samman’ awards for the year 2023-24.
Atul Bhatt, Chairman of TOLIC (PSU) Visakhapatnam and CMD of RINL, presented the ‘Rajbhasha Gaurav Samman’ to various PSUs in Visakhapatnam for their outstanding performance in implementing the official language. The ‘Nagar Rajbhasha Samman’ was also awarded to Hindi Officers and Coordinators of the respective organizations. In his address, Chief Guest Atul Bhatt congratulated TOLIC (PSU) for receiving the Regional Official Language Award for 2022-23 from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He commended the local award-winning PSUs for their efforts and praised TOLIC (Undertaking) for its role in promoting Hindi in Visakhapatnam.
Three offices in each of the three categories were recognized for their exemplary performance. In Category I, HPCL-Visakha Refinery, NTPC Simhadri, and the Airport Authority of India were awarded first, second, and third prizes respectively. In Category II, GAIL, HPCL-Visakha Regional Office, and SAIL – Branch Transport & Shipping Office received first, second, and third prizes respectively, while FCI-Regional Office received a consolation award. In Category III, MSTC, HPCL LPG, and ECGC (Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India) secured first, second, and third positions respectively.
Anirban Kumar Biswas, Deputy Director (Implementation) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangalore, reviewed the progress made by the member organizations in implementing the official language. He appreciated the overall performance and provided insights into various guidelines issued by the Government of India. Dr. Rita Trivedi, Assistant Director of the Hindi Teaching Scheme, Ministry of Home Affairs, Visakhapatnam-Incharge, explained the Hindi training facilities available in Visakhapatnam and encouraged member offices to utilize these resources.
Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Project Head of NTPC Simhadri, expressed his gratitude to Atul Bhatt for his leadership in promoting Hindi among local PSUs. Heads of various PSUs in Visakhapatnam, including Sri G Gandhi, CGM (HR) at RINL, attended the meeting and contributed to the discussions.
On this occasion, Atul Bhatt, Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Anirban Kumar Biswas, Dr. Rita Trivedi, G Gandhi, and Dr. Lalan Kumar released the eighth issue of ‘Visakha Dhara,’ the TOLIC Hindi Magazine, further promoting the use of Hindi in official communications.
