Chhattisgarh: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India based in Chhattisgarh, has achieved remarkable success with its NEET coaching assistance CSR program, “SECL Ke Sushrut”. In the recently announced NEET 2024 results, an outstanding 98% of the students enrolled in the program cleared the cut-off and passed the exam, with 39 out of the 40 students achieving success. This exceptional accomplishment underscores the efficacy of SECL’s initiative in providing quality education support to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The “SECL Ke Sushrut” program, launched in 2023 under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Coal, aimed to offer free residential medical coaching to Class 12 students from economically challenged backgrounds, particularly in the coal belt areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The program’s success is a testament to SECL’s commitment to empowering communities through better education opportunities.
Mahendra Nayak, one of the successful candidates from Umaria, a tribal district in Madhya Pradesh, expressed his gratitude towards the program. Nayak, whose father is a farmer unable to afford coaching for the NEET exam, credited “SECL Ke Sushrut” for providing top-notch coaching facilities, enabling him to achieve success.
Students selected for the program underwent a rigorous selection process based on the NEET pattern. Coaching was provided in partnership with a reputed private coaching institute in Bilaspur, along with regular national-level test series, mentoring, and lodging & boarding facilities, all fully funded by SECL. This comprehensive support system has been a lifeline for students from underdeveloped tribal areas, facilitating their dreams of becoming doctors and contributing to society.
SECL’s “SECL Ke Sushrut” initiative exemplifies the company’s dedication to community development through education. By providing quality coaching and support, SECL is not only nurturing the aspirations of talented youth but also fostering a brighter future for economically challenged communities in the coal belt region. Through initiatives like these, SECL continues to make significant strides towards creating a more inclusive and empowered society.
