Moscow: On December 10, 2024, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh met with the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in Moscow during the 21st session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC). The meeting, held on the sidelines of the session, provided an opportunity for the two leaders to discuss key matters of bilateral defence cooperation.
Rajnath Singh conveyed the warm greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Putin, emphasizing the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the India-Russia defence relationship, which holds immense potential for both nations.
During the meeting, Rajnath Singh remarked, “The friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean.” He further expressed India’s steadfast support for its Russian allies, underscoring that India has always stood by Russia and will continue to do so in the future.
The discussions covered a range of topics related to enhancing military and technical cooperation, with both leaders expressing confidence that their combined efforts will lead to significant outcomes, further solidifying the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.
