Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Inaugurates Sainik School in Jaipur

Jaipur: Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sainik School in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The school is part of the government’s initiative to establish 100 new Sainik Schools under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Of the 100 proposed schools, 45 have been approved by the Ministry of Defence, with 40 already operational, including Sainik School, Jaipur.

Addressing the gathering, Rajnath Singh expressed optimism that the new school would be instrumental in guiding Rajasthan’s youth toward careers in the Armed Forces. “Rajasthan is the land of legendary warriors like Maharana Pratap, Prithviraj Chauhan, Maharaja Surajmal, and Sawai Jai Singh. Their bravery serves as a source of inspiration for the younger generation to join the military. This Sainik school will provide them with the direction and infrastructure to serve the nation,” he said.

The Raksha Mantri highlighted the evolving definition of PPP, noting that it has shifted from “Public-Private Partnership” to “Private-Public Partnership,” as the private sector is now a key driver of the nation’s economy, particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and services. “Through these new Sainik schools, the private and public sectors will collaborate to offer world-class education to the next generation,” he added.

Rajnath Singh emphasized the vital role that education plays in national development. He lauded Sainik Schools for their holistic approach, focusing not only on academic excellence but also on fostering discipline, patriotism, and courage. “The all-round development of students in Sainik Schools inspires them to contribute to the nation’s progress,” he said.

The Minister proudly mentioned that current Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi are alumni of Sainik School, Rewa. He further noted that Sainik School graduates have excelled in various fields, not just the Armed Forces, and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence in their chosen careers.

The 100 new Sainik Schools under the partnership mode are in addition to the 33 existing Sainik Schools. These schools will be affiliated with their respective education boards but will operate under the Sainik Schools Society and adhere to its regulations. Along with regular academic subjects, students will benefit from an “Academic Plus Curriculum,” which includes value-based learning, debates on gender equality and environmental protection, skill training, extracurricular activities, NCC, physical training, and motivational talks.

In September 2023, the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Shri Bhawani Niketan Shiksha Samiti for the establishment of the new Sainik School at Shri Bhawani Niketan Public School, Jaipur.
