Rahul Gandhi Visits Relief Camps in Manipur, Offers Support to Ethnic Violence Victims

Manipur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited a relief camp in Manipur today, providing support to people displaced by the ongoing ethnic violence in the northeastern state. The Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha interacted with displaced individuals at the camp in Tuibong village, Churachandpur district.

Gandhi was also seen greeting local leaders, workers, and volunteers outside the camp, demonstrating solidarity with the affected communities.

In a statement on X, the Congress party said, “LoP Rahul Gandhi visits Jiribam Higher Secondary School relief camp, meets victims of violence and offers support in their darkest hour. His third visit to Manipur post-violence shows his unwavering commitment to the people’s cause.”

This visit marks Gandhi’s third trip to the violence-stricken state and his first since the recent Lok Sabha elections, where the Congress secured both constituencies in Manipur. His initial visit to assess the situation occurred nearly two months after the outbreak of violence when he traveled to Churachandpur, one of the most affected districts.
