Bettiah: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated a series of transformative infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 12,800 Crores in Bettiah, West Champaran district, Bihar today. The projects spanned across the rail, road, and petroleum and natural gas sectors.
Addressing a spirited gathering, Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the historical significance of Bettiah, highlighting its role in reigniting the struggle for independence. He remarked, “This very land created Mahatma Gandhi out of Mohan Das ji,” emphasizing the deep-rooted connection between the region and India’s fight for freedom. The Prime Minister expressed his belief that there could be no better place than Bettiah to fuel the resolve for the development of Bihar and the nation.
Praising Bihar’s rich history and leadership, Prime Minister Modi asserted that the prosperity of India is intertwined with the prosperity of Bihar. He commended the momentum gained in the development of Viksit Bihar under the double-engine government in the state, referencing projects in rail, road, ethanol plants, city gas supply, and LPG gas.
Highlighting the acute problem of youth exodus from Bihar due to issues such as poor law and order and dynasty politics, the Prime Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities within the state. He underscored the significance of modern infrastructure in creating new avenues of employment and economic growth.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s focus on indigenous manufacturing, pointing out that all rail lines and trains in the country are now entirely Made in India. He credited the youth of India for the rapid adoption of digital services and pledged his unwavering support, stating, “Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfillment of guarantee.”
Touching upon various government initiatives, the Prime Minister highlighted efforts to address issues faced by the poor, women, youth, and farmers. He mentioned the increased purchase price of sugarcane, the world’s largest grain storage scheme, and financial assistance provided to farmers under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
Inaugurating the Indian Oil’s Muzaffarpur – Motihari LPG Pipeline, the Prime Minister marked a significant step towards providing cleaner cooking fuel in Bihar and Nepal. He also inaugurated road projects, a city gas distribution project, and grain-based ethanol projects. The Prime Minister unveiled and laid the foundation stone for various railway projects, reinforcing the commitment to robust transportation infrastructure.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the vision for India to become the third-largest economy, emphasizing poverty alleviation, youth employment, and advancements in technology. The event was attended by dignitaries, including Governor R V Arlekar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Union Minister of State Nityanand Rai, among others.
