Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Unveil Ambitious Development Projects in Odisha

 

Chandikhole:    In a momentous visit to the state of Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for a slew of development projects amounting to over Rs. 19,600 crores. The ceremony, scheduled for March 5th, 2024, will take place in Chandikhole, Jajpur, and encompasses projects in crucial sectors like Oil & Gas, Railways, Road, Transport & Highways, and Atomic Energy.

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited’s Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery will be inaugurated, contributing significantly to reducing India’s import dependency. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 344 km long product pipeline from Paradip in Odisha to Haldia in West Bengal. A vital addition to the import infrastructure on the Eastern Coast of India will be the inauguration of a 0.6 MMTPA LPG Import facility at Paradip.

In a bid to enhance road connectivity, the Prime Minister will dedicate four-laning projects including Singhara to Binjabahal Section of NH-49, Binjabahal to Tileibani Section of NH-49, Balasore-Jharpokharia Section of NH-18, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16. Additionally, the foundation stone for the eight-laning of Chandikhole-Paradip Section will be laid, further boosting the region’s road infrastructure.

A significant stride in the field of Atomic Energy will be marked with the inauguration of a 5 MLD capacity seawater desalination plant at Odisha Sands Complex of IREL(I) Ltd. This project, a testament to indigenous desalination technologies developed by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, aims to address water scarcity issues in the region.

With a focus on modernizing and extending rail connectivity, the Prime Minister will dedicate the 162 Km Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura Rail Line. This initiative not only enhances existing traffic facility capacity but also facilitates efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore from Keonjhar District to the nearest ports and steel plants, significantly contributing to regional economic growth.

Additionally, the inauguration of the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar is expected to boost domestic and international trade. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla, the Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji, and the upgradation and augmentation of maintenance facilities at Baghuapal.

Various other railway projects, including the Doubling of Bansapani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura Railway Section and the 3rd line of Khurda Road-Barang Section, will also be dedicated to the nation.

To enhance connectivity, a new train between Puri and Anand Vihar (New Delhi) will be flagged off from Kendujhargarh Railway Station. Additionally, Kendrapara District will witness the commencement of passenger train services in the Haridaspur-Paradeep Rail Line, with the Prime Minister personally flagging off the first train service in this section. The Paradeep-Kendujhargarh Passenger train will be flagged off from Paradeep, and a Container Train from Jajpur to Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, will also be inaugurated.

The inauguration and dedication of these projects reflect the government’s commitment to comprehensive development, infrastructure enhancement, and economic growth in the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit is anticipated to mark a transformative moment for the people of Odisha.
